Adult osteopathy
For the way
you move through life.
Back or neck concerns. Joint stiffness. Posture, headaches, jaw discomfort or sports-related symptoms. A conversation and an assessment are the starting point.
Your osteopath considers your health history, movement and daily activities, then discusses hands-on care, practical advice or medical referral where appropriate.

Little patients.
Careful attention.
Gentle, age-appropriate osteopathic assessment, with time for your questions. We review relevant health and birth history and assess movement and comfort.
Feeding difficulties, colic, reflux, sleep or developmental concerns should also be discussed with your child’s doctor. Evidence for osteopathy in these concerns is limited; it does not replace paediatric care.

Not sure which osteopath is right for you?
Tell reception the patient’s age, reason for the appointment and any practitioner preference. They can help you explore relevant clinical interests and availability. Your osteopath assesses suitability for care at the appointment.
Before your appointment
Before we meet.
What is osteopathy?
Osteopathy combines assessment of your symptoms, health history and movement with hands-on techniques where suitable. Care may also include movement advice. It focuses primarily on musculoskeletal concerns and does not replace medical diagnosis or treatment.
Is osteopathy suitable for different ages?
Perfect Balance offers adult and paediatric pathways. Suitability depends on the individual, their age, medical history and examination findings. Techniques are adapted, and medical or paediatric assessment may be recommended before any treatment.
What happens during the first appointment?
Your osteopath asks about your concerns, health history, medicines and goals, then carries out an appropriate examination. They explain their findings, options, possible benefits and risks, and seek your consent before treatment. Your First Visit explains how to prepare.
Do all osteopaths use the same techniques?
No. Practitioners have different clinical interests and approaches. Technique selection depends on your assessment, preferences and consent. Evidence varies between approaches and conditions, particularly for cranial, visceral and biodynamic care; no specific technique or result is guaranteed.
How do I choose an osteopath, and how many sessions might I need?
Reception can help match your age, reason for booking and preferences to a practitioner’s clinical focus. Your osteopath determines suitability and discusses any follow-up after assessment. The number of sessions varies; progress should be reviewed rather than assuming a fixed course.
