Background

Hailing from India, I am Anub, a dedicated physiotherapist with a rich career spanning over 26 years. After graduating with a degree in Physiotherapy from Chennai University, I began my career working in hospitals in my hometown for three years. Driven by a desire to advance my career, I moved to Abu Dhabi, where I spent nearly 20 years at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) the largest multispecialty tertiary-level flagship hospital in the UAE.

During my tenure at SKMC as Senior Pediatric Physiotherapist., I gained extensive experience in providing comprehensive assessments, treatments, and training to a diverse range of pediatric patients, including those with movement dysfunction, neurological conditions, and post-traumatic needs. My clinical responsibilities included:

  • Assessment and Treatment: Evaluating and treating pediatric patients with various conditions such as neonatal screening, neurological disorders, post-traumatic recovery, plastic surgery, post-chemotherapy rehabilitation, amputations, post-operative care, musculoskeletal issues, occupational injuries, and cardio-respiratory conditions, including cystic fibrosis and chronic chest patients. I incorporated family-centered care principles in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Specialized Pediatric Care: Extensive experience in treating pediatric outpatients, neonates, pediatric inpatients, and patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and advanced life support.
  • Equipment Assessment: Providing assessments and ordering specialized equipment and wheelchairs for disabled patients to enhance their mobility and quality of life.

Following my tenure at SKMC, I joined Danat Al Emarat Hospital, a Mubadala Health Partner and leading mother and child super-specialty hospital in Abu Dhabi as senior Supervisor Physiotherapist and later was promoted as acting head of rehab Here, I continue to leverage my extensive experience in various leadership and clinical roles

  • Specialized Assessment and Follow-Up: Conducted assessments and follow-up care for NICU patients, ensuring comprehensive neonatal rehabilitation.
  • Pediatric Chest Physiotherapy: Provided assessment and follow-up for pediatric inpatients requiring chest physiotherapy.
  • Orthopedic Care: Managed assessment and follow-up for pediatric orthopedic patients, including pre and post-operative care.
  • Orthopedic and Neurological Disorders: Assessed and followed up on pediatric patients with orthopedic and neurological disorders.
  • Adult Musculoskeletal Care: Conducted assessments and follow-ups for adult musculoskeletal patients in the pain clinic.
  • Consultant Role: Acted as a second opinion consultant for Daman, providing expert advice on complex cases.
  • International Patients Committee (IPC): Liaised with various departments for the International Patients Committee to ensure a continuum of care for international patients.
